Notification Profiles

Available on our Pro Plan

New Profile

Use the Notification Profile to set up the channel of incoming notifications from an Alert.

To add a new Profile, go to Settings >> Notification Profiles and click on the +New profile button.

Add Notification Profile

Add a new notification email or method:

  • Email - the designated inbox receives a notification with a template containing a name, timestamp, alert status, trigger condition (or user) and link for direct access.
  • Slack - introduce any given webhook URL using, e.g., the Incoming Webhooks app integration and set the channel name to where you want to send notifications;
  • PagerDuty - at the time, only one service key per Notification Profile is allowed, but you can add different keys to other profiles;
  • Webhook - add a custom webhook URL where to deliver requests. Here you will need to set up the way you want it delivered, but the majority of webhooks will typically POST data as JSON to be interpreted.

Don’t forget to Save the new notification profile so that, later, you may also associate it with as many Alerts as you need.

Associate Profile to Alert

When you Go to alert (edit it) or Add new alert page, you will find a field titled NOTIFICATIONS. In this field, type in an existing profile’s name on the search box, and select it from the dropbox.

You can associate as many notification profiles you need.

associate Profile to Alert

It is also possible to define the time interval (up to 60 minutes) between consecutive notifications (so you don’t get spammed).

This notification interval is applied to all associated profiles.

PagerDuty

To set up PagerDuty, all you need is the API Service Key.

Check out their documentation here on how to generate your key.

Once triggered Alerts become available at PagerDuty enabling, e.g., insight to an on-call person.
